Dear Potential Esteem Team Athlete Role Model,   

Thank you very much for your interest in ESTEEM TEAM Roster of Athlete Role Models.  We hope that your potential involvement with our program is a rewarding experience not only for you, but for the thousands of young people you may work with.  Through your interactions with young people, you have a great opportunity to inspire and educate them on what it takes to reach their full potential - whether it be in sport, the arts, relationships or school.   

Our primary consideration in determining your suitability for the program is that first and foremost you are a good role model, and that you are genuinely interested in making a difference in the lives of young people; but it requires more than that, It requires commitment both on your part and on the part of the ESTEEM Team to facilitate your process of becoming a great presenter and role model.   

The journey to becoming an athlete Role model starts with a three-step process.

During Step One 'The Application and Interview Process' - you will be informally evaluated to make sure that you are a good fit with the program.  If so, you will move on to Step Two which involves some presentation skills training.   

During step two you will be instructed in how to develop a presentation for school aged children following your training ESTEEM Team will support you by arranging for you to deliver some practice presentations.   

Step Three occurs when you have had the opportunity to deliver your practice presentations and we are able determine what fine tuning and adjustments are required to hone your skills to the necessary level.    

This is sort of a long 'audition' process at the conclusion of which both the ESTEEM Team and you will be able to evaluate whether you have what it takes to become a great Role model. If successful you will be ready to go.   

Assuming you have what it takes, we move on from the 'audition' and continue to work with you to improve your presentation skills.  While we provide a lot of training and support as we also have pretty high expectations. We need to ensure that your presentations are as effective as possible.  The time required to move through the processes is 15-20 hours so please give some thought to whether or not you will be able to devote the time required.  Your reward for all this effort is the knowledge that you are helping youth while gaining extremely valuable communication and presentation skills and joining the MOTIVATE CANADA family of Youth Driven Development - visit www.motivatecanada.ca for more info on our parent organization. Lastly, you are also developing an income source for yourself with an average honorarium of $150 per presentations.    Once on the roster your time commitment is based on your availability and the demand for our program in your region of the country.
