It was an ideal presentation as not many students had ever met a Paralympian. Alexandra was a warm and endearing person who shared his experiences of being in a bad accident and losing the use of one of his legs. His positive story of making the most from a difficult situation was a fine example for students as they will all meet with adversity at one time or another and will be faced with difficult choices.Alexandre used his story to present a realistic way to become successful. Through the use of the SMART goal theory students were drawn into his life, his experience and his accomplishments. He presented himself as any regular kid who decided to make a life commitment to a dream. It was memorable, believable, humorous and honest. Our students were captivated from beginning to end.Students and staff of our school found this presentation interesting and motivating. Students received the message that they can reach their goals if they are passionate, realistic, and dedicated. Days later they describe the presentation as awesome and inspiring. Of the many presentations that come our school this one was very good and we look forward to having another member of the Esteem Team visit soon.It was an ideal presentation as not many students had ever met a Paralympian.
